Posterior ocular parameters following extraocular muscle surgery: an optical coherence tomography study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background/Aim: Muscle trauma, vascular injury, and compensatory vasoconstriction during strabismus surgery may cause changes in the choroidal circulation early postoperative period. This study aims to evaluate effect of extraocular muscle on posterior ocular parameters, including central subfield thickness (CST), average retinal (ART), (CT), macular volume (MV). Methods: prospective cohort included 26 eyes strabismic patients who underwent single medial or lateral rectus recession using a fornix-based conjunctival incision. All participants detailed ophthalmologic evaluation, axial length (AL) spherical equivalent (SE), uncorrected (UCVA), best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA). Retinal images were obtained spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT). measurements performed preoperatively repeated 1 week month after surgery. Results: received satisfactory results terms deviation. None showed AL, SE, UCVA, BCVA. No significant differences noted CST MV values (P=0.472 P=0.182, respectively). Although subfoveal CT ART statistically decreases (P=0.012 P=0.046, respectively), no these observed (P>0.05). exist between preoperative, first week, nasal temporal Conclusion: Extraocular with incision is safe procedure for CST, ART, CT, MV.

Macular optical coherence tomography findings following blunt ocular trauma
This case report describes the optical coherence tomography (OCT) results of Berlin's edema in a male subject following blunt ocular trauma from a soccer ball. A 27-year-old male presented with blurred vision in his left eye following blunt trauma. On admission, he underwent a complete eye examination and an OCT of the macula. Fundoscopy revealed commotio retinae, observed as an abnormal cream-...

AIM To assess the value of slit lamp adapted optical coherence tomography (OCT) for the management of malignant glaucoma following filtration surgery. METHODS Two patients (three eyes) developed malignant glaucoma following filtration surgery for primary open angle glaucoma (POAG). With slit lamp adapted OCT it was possible to image non-invasively the anterior chamber angle structures during ...
متن کاملOptical Coherence Tomography in ocular toxoplasmosis
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is now a method of choice to asses conditions such as macular holes, diabetic macular edema or central serous chorioretinopathy [1]. OCT measurements of retinal thickness have a good reproducibility as demonstrated in repeated examinations. The main application of OCT in inflammatory eye diseases is for the analysis of cystoid macular edema [2;3]. Ocular toxop...

This study was performed to evaluate optic disc appearance, retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness, and macular thickness in normal, ocular hypertensive (OHT) and glaucomatous eyes using optical coherence tomography (OCT) 3000. One hundred fifty-eight eyes of 167 consecutive subjects were enrolled: 60 normal, 53 OHT, and 54 glaucomatous. OCT topographic parameters of cup diameter, cup area,...
